Loud family Fandom

loud house sisters

He is Lynn Sr.'s brother, son of Leonard and the Loud kids' paternal uncle. He is also the husband of Sharon Loud and father of Shane, Shelby and Shiloh Loud. She wears a gold tiara, pink and white ballgown with a flower print in the lower part, and a pink choker shaped like a bow.

Luna

During Lynn Sr.'s childhood, Lance was apparently the favorite child of their father Leonard (or at least Lynn Sr. believes). In his youth, he sported a hat that bore a strong resemblance to Lana's.

Lily

As such, he would mess around with his brother Lynn when they were receiving Christmas gifts, which eventually caused them to avoid seeing each other. However, he is shown to be a caring father and uncle. Shirley is the Loud kids' aunt (it is unrevealed what side of the family she is on), who first appears in the episode "Picture Perfect". In "Snow Bored", Lucy fruitlessly calls her great-grandmother to save her and Lynn from Lisa's incoming big snowball. Great Grandma Harriet is a minor character, and part of the Loud family.

Rita Loud

She wore a white veil with gold trim, and a sleeveless dress with a blue tartan bodice, lace around the neckline, and a long white skirt. He has black hair, that has been applied with grease, and styled into a pompadour. He wears a black leather jacket, with a white shirt underneath it, blue jeans, a black belt, and black boots. She wears a white long sleeve shirt with gray pants, plus pink socks and magenta sandals. She looks identical to Lola, but with wavy bangs, a large gold crown, a tan, Victorian dress with off-white trim, and a blue tartan petticoat.

Lucille and her family used to live the high life, with her brother as the Duke of Loch Loud. But then, 400 years before the events of the movie, the whole family was driven away by Aggie, the castle caretaker, who only wanted peace and quiet. Later, the family tried going back home to Loch Loud until Aggie brainwashed Lolo the dragon into taking away the Duke’s crown.

Lynn

Lucille's cause of death, along with that of the rest of her family, remains unknown. Her striped clothing is white with black stripes in her organic form, but black with white stripes in her ghost form. Leni's ancestral double is known to have been just as fashion-oriented as Leni is. According to Morag, she was known in Loch Loud for her fashion skills, and her ghost is seen admiring a dress along with Leni and Scott. She is also shown to have been just as ditzy as Leni, since in life, she specified that her boyfriend Scott came from Scotland to her siblings and parents, who all already knew.

Lana Loud

He looked almost the same as Lynn Sr. but with a full head of hair with a grey strip in it and side burns. He wore a brown jacket with gold trim, a blue kilt, a black belt, fishnet socks and black shoes with golden buckles. She wears a pearl-pink, old-fashioned, long dress with a V-shaped cut on her chest, a long-sleeved shirt, knee-long socks in black and white horizontal stripes, and purple shoes.

Lynn Loud Sr.'s mother is a minor character in The Loud House. She is the wife of Leonard Loud, the Loud kids' paternal grandmother, mother of Lynn Sr. and mother-in-law of Rita. He has a pointy long nose like his brother and father and slicked down brown hair. He wears a matching light blue track suit with a white line on the sides and white sneakers.

Unknown

She looked identical to Lynn except she wears a bun, and wore a white blouse, a leather jerkin, a blue tartan skirt, white socks, and black shoes. She looked identical to Luna, and wore a dark purple cloak, a brown belt, and a blue tartan dress with white, loose sleeves. She looked a lot like Lori, but with different clothes.

Not much is known about her, except that she's a deceased relative of the Loud family. Lucy still treats her as a living person, which indicates that, (assuming Lucy and her siblings knew her when she was still alive) she and Lucy were very close. She is the wife of Lance Loud and the Loud kids' aunt. She is also the mother of Shane, Shelby and Shiloh Loud. Lance is very proud of his muscular build and energetic life.

He gave the first issue of David Steele to his son for his twelfth birthday. Much like Rita, she is a very kind and caring mother for her children. She is also shown to care just as much for her nieces and nephew. Like his father and brother, Lance is very emotional and driven to tears easily.

Shirley is a very repulsive woman, with fair skin, curly red hair and a mole on her left cheek. She wears an olive toned dress with light green spots, three golden bracelets on her right arm, olive green studded earrings, pink nail polish and pink lipstick. She looked almost identical to Lily, except her hair was combed down and she wore a lacy blue tartan dress and tan loafers. Mee-Maw is the Loud kids' grandmother (it is unknown which side of the family she is on or who she was married to), who was first mentioned in "Crashed Course".

With no singular mandated style, the studio is characterized by diversity and unified by an essential clarity, with clients including Pierre Hardy and Gilles Mendel. Before establishing his platinum reputation as an interior designer, Lorenzo Castillo was known as one of Spain’s preeminent antiques dealers. Castillo’s bold juxtapositions of old and new bring a masculine robustness to his interiors.

Examples of Arts and Crafts Interiors

Before joining Homes & Gardens, she worked for two interiors titles across both print and digital channels, writing about a range of topics from room design ideas and decorating trends to the best places to source pre-loved homeware. Lighting plays a big part in any interior, but in Arts and Crafts design, the style of fixtures is just as important as the ambiance. The lighting of the era was elegant, and the focus on design saw pieces with intricate details and eye-catching forms. One area you should expect to see darker tones is in the woodwork, as Georgina adds that dark stained wood was particularly popular, particularly when it comes to wall paneling.

Choose vibrant arts and crafts fabrics for a modern twist

They're trendy in California and the Midwest and appeal primarily to those who love vintage homes. You may have noticed that the Arts and Crafts movement is having a bit of a moment, with some of today’s naturalistic wallpapers and fabrics, rustic furniture and pared-back interiors seeming to have their roots in this style. Spanning 1860 to 1920, Arts and Crafts was a celebration of simple, honest craftsmanship. It was a reaction against mass production and the excesses of Victorian design, which were flaunted at the Great Exhibition in 1851. This show-cased contemporary industrial design and featured more than 100,000 objects.

Earthy Hues: Color Palettes Inspired by Arts and Crafts Interiors

By carefully selecting contemporary art pieces and incorporating them into the overall design, homeowners can create a space that is both timeless and current. It was the first time that lights were specifically designed for electricity in the home. You can see in his designs a sense of innovation in how to best spread, reflect, and shade this new source of light appearing in people’s homes – the filament bulb,' adds Leo. 'Although there were different aesthetics within the movement, the interiors are characterized by their sense of integrity and humility. Materials and furniture celebrate the skill of the artisan over the machine and are often self-consciously hand-made.

Each design was made by carefully lining up and printing the woodblock motifs again and again to create a seamless repeat. Before modernism, this was a very common feature, to have the ceiling of a home be adorned with wallpaper, painting, beams, ornate trim, or anything else. Typically, this style is more suited to warmer climates with less snowfall, but you will also see many homes of this design in Canada. It was discovered later on that William Morris himself used an arsenic based green in many of his wallpapers. Although the first synthetic dye – picric acid, which produced a bright yellow on silk – was invented in 1771, the man widely regarded as responsible for the rise of synthetic dyes was William Henry Perkin. So, it was many years later, at the end of the 19th century that there was a real movement to return to natural dyes.

The term “Mission Style” or “Mission furniture” also remains frequently used, originally meant to describe a chair made by A.J. Forbes in 1894 for San Francisco’s Swedenborgian Church, but popularized in 1898 by Joseph McHugh, a New York furniture manufacturer, in reference to the simple furnishings of Spanish missions in California. One style that in particular shared many theoretical and visual qualities with the Arts & Crafts was Art Nouveau, which emerged in part from the Arts & Crafts in Europe during the late 1880s. The spark for the Arts & Crafts movement was the Great Exhibition of 1851, the first world’s fair, held in London. The chief criticism of the manufactured objects on display was the riot of unnecessary ornament with little concern for utility.

What are the 3 main characteristics of the Arts and Crafts movement?

'Furniture was typically hand-crafted using solid local materials and often included colonial motifs inspired by nature. Windsor chairs and high-backed ladder-back chairs are perfect examples as is Morris’ rush seated Sussex chair design,' says Georgina. 'As a society, we are becoming increasingly aware of what we are consuming and where it’s produced whether it’s food, clothing, or furniture.

She is currently channeling those influences into the design of a new Atlanta restaurant set in a Victorian house. In Southern California, the Pasadena-based firm Greene and Greene was the most renowned practitioner of the original American Craftsman Style. Their projects for Ultimate bungalows include the Gamble House and Robert R. Blacker House in Pasadena, and the Thorsen House in Berkeley, California—with numerous others in California. Other examples in the Los Angeles region include the Arts and Crafts Lummis House by Theodore Eisen and Sumner P. Hunt, along the Arroyo Seco in Highland Park, California and the Journey House, located in Pasadena. 6) You can use the worksheet to figure out your cost or just contact us and have us figure it out for you.

What design styles did the Arts and Crafts movement use?

The husband-and-wife team of John and Christine Gachot met at Studio Sofield in New York, then established their own design studio with a mix of residential and high-profile hospitality projects. They bring a cultivated stance to a downtown aesthetic with a respectful and witty eye. Their own townhouse—the former home of architect Paul Rudolph—graced our Summer 2021 A-List issue. Los Angelesnightpalm.comHowell founded her firm, Night Palm, in 2016, focusing on residential and commercial interiors, and in the ensuing years has gained attention for her work on Caviar Kaspia’s Los Angeles outpost and more. The home Howell designed for Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil graced the cover of our September 2022 issue.

To help get you started we've rounded up a host of beautiful decorating ideas inspired by the Arts and Crafts Movement along with some handy advice from the interiors experts. The movement’s emphasis on quality materials, intricate ornamentation, and hand-crafted items profoundly impacted interior design, promoting a return to artisanal traditions and a rejection of mass-produced goods. The historical significance of arts and crafts interior design is closely tied to the movement’s origins and its impact on the design world. The use of handcrafted furniture and textiles adds a personal touch to the space, showcasing the beauty of the arts and crafts style.

These colors reflect the natural world and evoke a sense of tranquillity and warmth within the space,' says Matthew. On a more superficial level, I think that the furniture and the fabrics of the period are just incredibly cool and a bit different to the now ubiquitous mid-century furniture cliches. Contemporary brands such as Morris & Co. and The Marchmont Workshop are still faithfully championing the designs of the period whilst keeping them fresh and appropriate for 21st Century Living,' he adds. Furniture had lost not only its quality, but also its beauty – everything was becoming utilitarian, and the movement aimed to counter this. Interior design styles are always ebbing in and out of trends, but Arts and Crafts decor has been around for decades. With a sense of history and a step back from the more modern spaces that have dominated recent trends, the Arts and Crafts resurgence is proving a breath of fresh air.

Check out a tiny beach bungalow firm principal Lee F. Mindel recently designed for a Palm Beach client here. Kelly Wearstler’s global luxury lifestyle brand is marked by its distinctive designs and sophisticated soulful character. Wearstler’s signature style juxtaposes raw with refined, and her portfolio includes luxury hotels and grand residences from Beverly Hills to the Caribbean. Based in Washington, D.C., Darryl Carter, a former lawyer, turns out cool, calm, and collected spaces that are distinctive in their masculine rigor. They are full of smart neutral fabrics, dark wood furniture, and strong silhouettes. Bold patterns, jewel tones, and exotic accents are characteristic of Alex Papachristidis’s work.

Flora and fauna-inspired textiles, wallpapers, and hand-crafted wooden furniture add an old-world charm to the rooms designed with function in mind. Craftsman bungalows exemplify the arts and crafts style, featuring beautiful wooden furniture and intricate ornamentation. The art and design used in these homes draw from both Europe and North America, creating a unique and characterful ambiance. Arts and Crafts interior design was born from the Arts and Crafts movement, an English aesthetic movement that championed quality craftsmanship over the mass-manufactured furniture and decor of the 19th century. Incorporating the personal collections of her clients with fine art and antiques, contemporary pieces and custom-designed furniture, Suzanne Kasler creates meaningful, timeless interiors.

He’s currently working on a residence in Brentwood, California, as well as a home on Long Island. Dark wood trim is one of the most common themes in Arts and Crafts spaces, and this room is no exception. The designer chose warm earth tones to give the room a relaxing and nature-inspired feel. Even if you don’t live in a traditional Arts and Crafts home, you can develop this interior design style by focusing on quality and nature. You probably have heard some variation of the motto, “Buy the highest quality you can afford.” The proponents of Arts and Crafts interior design believed the same.

Wood and Iron

Taking inspiration from nature and a Medieval aesthetic, leading figures such as William Morris and C.F. Voysey, created stylised flora and fauna patterns for wallpapers and fabrics, many for the decorating firm Morris & Co founded by the father of the movement himself in 1861. His work continues to inspire contemporary designers, showcasing the lasting legacy of the arts and crafts interior design. The arts and crafts movement has its roots in the Great Exhibition of 1851, held in London. This exhibition showcased the best of British design and manufacturing, highlighting the need for a return to quality craftsmanship in the face of mass production.

Decorate with colors inspired by the natural landscape

Gustav Stickley was a seminal figure in the Arts and Crafts movement in the United States, Stickley’s new furniture reflected his ideals of simplicity, honesty in construction, and truth to materials. They are considered part of the Art Nouveau movement, which occurred contemporaneously to the Arts and Crafts movement. This kind of attention to simple structures is also aimed at drawing attention to the natural beauty of the materials. These days, this approach has been taken to the next level, with tables made purely from tree stumps, sanded and finished to highlight the rings of the tree and its natural form.

Understanding the arts and crafts movement

His firm, Jayne Design Studio, knows how to create personality-packed spaces for clients ranging from families to collectors. Jamie Drake and Caleb Anderson are primarily modernists, yet they’re known for their fearless approach to color and a fashion-conscious sensibility. Projects have included sophisticated interiors in many residential towers, as well as medical facilities and nonprofit headquarters. Founded in 2001, Amy Lau Design creates interiors known for their warmth, expressiveness, and impeccable attention to detail. Lau has a reverence for the inherent beauty of natural materials and landscapes and thoughtfully incorporates elements of each into every project. What was the Arts and Crafts movement?

Its immediate ancestors in American architecture are the Shingle style, which began the move away from Victorian ornamentation toward simpler forms, and the Prairie style of Frank Lloyd Wright. Contemporary arts can be seamlessly integrated into arts and crafts interior design. The use of arts and crafts wallpapers, for example, can add a modern touch while still maintaining the essence of the crafts style. The arts and crafts revival brings together traditional elements with a modern twist.

He noted, along with a few others, the poorly made, excessively decorated, and artificial quality of the exhibits. Bursting with sinuous stems and blooms, arts and crafts wallpapers are perfect for bringing the romance of nature into the bedroom, as demonstrated this beautiful scheme by Neptune. Dearle in 1892, Blackthorn is a classic arts and crafts wallpaper which is still available today in its original colorway. Artisans and designers carefully selected and worked with the finest materials, creating furniture and decor pieces that stood the test of time and retained their artistic appeal for generations.

By incorporating arts and crafts wallpapers into the design, homeowners can create a focal point that adds depth and character to the space. Arts and crafts wallpapers are a great way to add visual interest to the walls of an interior space. These wallpapers often feature intricate patterns and natural motifs, reflecting the artistic style of the movement.

There's also a pecan pie served with chocolate ice cream and caramel liqueur on the menu that we found a bit disappointing. The pecan pie itself was done well, but the caramel liqueur was not a good choice as it did not pair well with the chocolate ice cream or the pie. The plate contained a single piece of fish and some fries that should have been marinated with vinegar, but tasted like regular fries (to be fair, there is a bottle of vinegar on the table). On the side was a cup of tartar sauce and a green something, supposedly pea-puree, that tasted awful.

Cabin Layout

There is a choice of cheese cake, strawberry pound cake, and chocolate cake, which is the same brownie-like, flourless cake you get in the main dining rooms. There's a choice of different fruits, juices, breads, yogurts, cereals, and preserves. Other drinks, including coffee and tea, are also available. The Garden Café is the only buffet you will find on the Dawn. It offers breakfast from 5.30 am to 11.30 am, lunch from 12 pm to 3 pm and dinner from 5 pm to 9.30 pm. On the menu are eggs benedict, fresh fruits, baked potatoes, sandwiches, sausages, humus, and salads – and even soft ice.

Norwegian Dawn offers a number of sun deck areas where you’ll find lounge chairs to sit in the sun. The pool areas are crowded on sea days—unless the ship encounters bad weather. NCL offers water and soda packages with unlimited fountain soda or water for $6.25 per person per day. Juices are also available and for breakfast Garden Café offers fresh grape, orange, and apple juice. Norwegian offers a dining room wine package on embarkation day and you can pre-order a bottle of wine. Beer can be bought in a bucket six for the price of five.

We especially appreciated matinee shows on sea days that spotlighted Second City comedians and the onboard magician, and the use of the Bliss Lounge, atrium and pool deck as secondary venues for evening events. Embarkation in Cape Town was chaotic with no NCL staff in evidence in the area where passengers were waiting to be called forward. It took us over 90 minutes to be processed and to get on the ship. Our cabin on Deck 9 forward was clean and comfortable but we didn't get to see our cabin steward until the next day.

The living room is furnished with a sitting area, couches, easy chairs, a dining table, and a coffee bar. The balcony provides two padded wicker loungers and a drinks table. On one side is the master bedroom, separated from the closet by a curtain, and on the other side is a large bathroom with double sinks, a shower stall, a toilet behind a door, and a whirlpool tub with a window. Some find the master bed area a bit enclosed when the curtains are drawn, but the abundance of space more than compensates for this minor inconvenience. The two Garden Villas on Deck 14 are the most luxurious accommodations on Norwegian Dawn, and they are accessible only by keycard.

Aqua is one of the ship’s two main dining rooms, serving a menu that changes daily. Le Bistro's dinner is delicious and keeps up with expectations. As a complimentary amuse bouche, we got a salmon spread with olives and toasted baguette. The mussels in Pernod-cream sauce were excellent, and for the more adventurous gourmets Le Bistro offers escargot with a garlic-herb crust.

When you want some "me" time, look no further than Mandara Spa®. Relax with a hot-stone massage, one of over 50 specialty treatments offered. At our onboard spas, treatments range from the classic to the luxurious. Let our pampering professionals soothe and rejuvenate you with facials, massages, acupuncture and a full menu of services. Smoking is allowed in cabins, on cabin balconies, in the ship's casino, along the promenade deck and at the pool bar.

Prices range from $119 for a La Therapie HydraIift facial to a five-session acupuncture therapy for $599, excluding an 18% service charge/tip. Norwegian offers several specials throughout a voyage, wherein several treatments are put into a package (different options for women and men) and offered for a fraction of the original price. The coffee costs a $1.50 a cup and even though they supposedly use a special roast it didn’t taste any better than the complimentary coffee served at the Venetian or Garden Café. They do have an espresso machine for fancy drinks, however, and sell all kinds of cakes in the afternoon. The dry dock makeover of the ship, which took place in May 2011, brought about extensive renovations, especially in public areas, suites and restaurants. New are the the Brazilian restaurant Moderno Churrascaria and the addition of a Deluxe Owner's Suite and Family Suites.

The design of the sushi bar is a fun one, with a motorized conveyor belt that carries sushi to diners. The sushi chef periodically puts little plates with two pieces of sushi on the belt, and they arrive right in front of you. The Sushi & Sashimi Bar is a silver chrome block with bar stools and the conveyor belt running the perimeter.

Also like a diner, it's open 24/7, serving up breakfast and comfort food. Teppanyaki is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses iron griddles or grills to cook food to an audience of guests – and it is a really fun experience. Right in front of everybody, the chefs toss their spatulas and knifes, make eggs "disappear" into their hat, shape the fried rice into a fish while cooking the rest of the meal. Reservations are highly recommended, as this restaurant is popular. The restaurant is open from 5.30 pm to 10.30 pm and costs $25 extra. On TV you can watch several news and information channels, as well as two movie channels.Ten restaurants, several bars, and numerous cafes give passengers a wide selection of food options.

Norwegian Dawn Cabins & Staterooms on Cruise Critic

Aft-facing penthouses on decks 8, 9, and 10 are slightly smaller, measuring 365 to 411 square feet, with 78- to 123-square-foot balconies. Most penthouses can sleep three people, while a few can accommodate four. Penthouse suites come with a walk-in closet, living area with a couch, coffee table, and chair, as well as a small dining table with four chairs.

Overall, we were very satisfied with the food and the service at Teppanyaki and would definitely recommend trying it. Teppanyaki is a Japanese-style restaurant with great food. The waffles were a little hard, but if you put enough maple syrup on them, they'll soften.

Norwegian Dawn Review

While nearly a decade old, the Dawn has just emerged from an extensive overhaul in dry dock that, among other things, brought 58 additional cabins (nearly half of which were new suites). It's a good vessel on which to bring your whole family, have a reunion or just hang out with friends, as long as you're not looking for a formal environment. In-Room Dining Overview

Garden Café is also the only place where you can get fresh orange, grape, or apple juice. It looks and feels like a regular buffet in the Garden Café. There are isles between buffet and tables, where you can get drinks. At the front side is a little area just for kids, where they have their own little buffet and tables to sit at. Unlike the rest of the kids areas, adults can get into this one. If you over-eat during your main course and want something light for dessert, there is a lemon sorbet that fits the bill perfectly -- very tasty with a lemony essence that is present but not too overpowering.

While built for two, many of the standard Oceanview and Balcony cabins on the Norwegian Dawn can accommodate a third passenger while a few cabins can accommodate a fourth passenger. In recent years the hard upsell and eyewatering prices have made this treat less pleasant. There is nothing like having an overpriced 90-minute massage to be rattled out of your zen state by someone trying to sell you creams and serums that you don’t need or want. For limited mobility cruisers, the Norwegian Dawn offers 26 wheelchair-accessible cabins across every category. (We heard several tales of the elevators themselves getting stuck between floors, as well.) The most heard -- and experienced -- complaint was bathrooms that were out of order or in dire need of cleaning. In 2020, NCL recategorized fleetwide the Mini-Suite cabin category, renaming it to "Club Balcony Suite" and adding free perks.

These are marketed by NCL as “The Largest Suites at Sea”. These expansive 6,694-square-foot cabins consist of three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and enormous two-story outside deck areas. They can comfortably sleep seven people, providing more space than one could possibly need. The individual bedrooms vary in size and come with impressive bathrooms and closet space. Two bedrooms have king-sized beds and whirlpool tubs, while the third bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a standard bathtub, and a shower. The Garden Villas also boast private outdoor deck areas with whirlpools, lounge chairs, top-of-the-ship sunbathing decks, and steam rooms.

Not to mention the floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to a private balcony for the whole family to enjoy. These mid-ship staterooms can accommodate up to three guests, with two lower beds that convert into a queen-size bed and a convertible sofa to sleep one more. Also includes a sitting area and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to a private balcony.

The apple pie, however, was really not good at all; it was neither cold nor warm, the crust soggy. Venetian's lunch menu is a good alternative to the buffet in the Garden Café. The stuffed portabello mushroom was good, but a little dry at the edges. Our angus burger was well prepared and the onions and tomatoes gave it a little extra flavor. Unfortunately, our New York strip was almost well done, instead of medium rare, which was what we asked for. For breakfast you can get omelets, pancakes, eggs and bacon, waffles and eggs benedict.

That said, we give high marks to Le Bistro, the French eatery, and the Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant. The oceanview rooms are smallish and most of the room is taken by the queen-size bed. On the right side is the tiny bathroom, and on the left a closet and storage space. At the end of the closet is a little vanity with mirror, along with the only 110-volt plug in the room. The Balcony Stateroom has a very comfortable queen-size bed. There is a sofa beside it that can be used as a spare bed.

Oddly enough, we thought the food tasted a little better at Aqua even though the two menus were the same and come from the same kitchen. We suspect the smaller size of the restaurant may result in faster delivery of dishes from kitchen to table, resulting in turn in a higher quality experience. One of the things that guests often ask about is the dress code on board the ship. The good news is that Norwegian Dawn has a relaxed dress code for most of the public areas of the ship, allowing guests to enjoy their holiday in comfort, in line with their “Freestyle” Branding. However, Le Bistro does have a policy that includes no shorts, torn jeans, flip flops.

Standard cabins are on the small side, but can easily accommodate two people. Add in a third or fourth, either by bunk bed or pullout sofa, and you'll start to feel the squeeze. Storage is plentiful with a closet that offers both hanging space and wide shelves, three drawers of a suitable size for clothing and a few high shelves. While no longer one of the biggest cruise ships at sea, this still is a large ship, especially if this is your first time on a cruise. Although the signage is everywhere, it is not very descriptive – and some descriptions are plain wrong. When we were on the Dawn it was still being refurbished, along with the meeting rooms and the Cinema.

The final insult was that we had paid £204 for trips in Gambia which were cancelled but the refund was paid in cash in US dollars so we now need to exchange this at a cost to us. There were some good points like the fresh rolls at dinner in the evening, the fun of the Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant and the interesting people we met. The dining and housekeeping staff were great but I think the management staff of the ship were lacking.

Having it separate from the main pool is pretty smart, keeping kids occupied in a different wet area. If you’re planning to embark on an NCL Dawn cruise, there are a few things you should know to help you get the best possible experience. First, you’ll find that the cabins are comfortable and well-appointed, albeit slightly dated and a bit on the small side. The shipboard crowd ranges from toddlers to seniors, with many in the middle range. Norwegian's "Freestyle Cruising" appeals to a mostly unpretentious clientele, and the overall vibe is super-casual and fun-filled.
